About the Journal

JIIA covers comprehensive aspects of analytical science, embracing established analytical practices as well as developments that extend or improve current approaches to chemical measurement and analysis. The journal welcomes original contributions that demonstrate scientific reliability, analytical relevance, and a clear contribution to the advancement or practical application of analytical science.

Its scope includes the development, modification, optimization, and validation of analytical methods and procedures toward more effective analytical approaches. Classical and wet chemical analysis remains within the journal's coverage, alongside instrumental analytical techniques and the development, modification, optimization, and technical improvement of analytical instrumentation and measurement systems. The introduction and validation of new tools, instruments, or techniques for instrumental analysis is also encouraged.

JIIA welcomes statistical, chemometric, mathematical, and computational approaches to the analysis, evaluation, modelling, and interpretation of analytical data. Scientifically validated applications of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning are of particular interest when they contribute to analytical prediction, classification, optimization, pattern recognition, interpretation, decision support, or trend analysis and prediction.

The journal also encourages green, practical, and cost-effective analytical solutions, including reliable environmentally friendly alternative reagents, solvents, materials, methods, and technologies that reduce environmental impact while maintaining appropriate analytical performance.

Emerging analytical concepts and technologies are welcomed when they introduce scientifically supported measurement strategies, analytical platforms, or other developments capable of extending analytical capabilities or addressing existing analytical challenges in new ways.

Through this scope, JIIA seeks to provide space for both established and developing areas of analytical science, with emphasis on work that offers scientific validity, analytical usefulness, and meaningful advancement.
